Unfolding Cultural Narratives in Curved Design: Expo 2025 Osaka
Location: Osaka, JP
Installation Time: 2025.05
Texture: White Oak
Product Quantity: 24 Panels
The China Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka draws inspiration from the form of a traditional Chinese scroll, symbolizing the unfolding of culture and stories. Its architecture blends this theme with contemporary exhibition design, presenting the essence of Chinese culture. Inside, oak is widely applied throughout the Pavilion as a primary surface. To align with this design direction, the client sought a solution that could integrate into the Pavilion while enabling storytelling through dynamic display.

Design Concept and Texture Selection
The design intent is to achieve complete visual integration with the Pavilion’s interior. For this reason, white oak texture was selected for ArtMorph panels. This project is a curved background wall. CECOCECO precisely measured the angle and implemented a segmented panel configuration. Each panel was set at a 0.5° angle shift, allowing ArtMorph panels to align seamlessly into the overall arc of the wall.
The ArtMorph installation consists of 24 active panels with a 0.5° segmented curve, forming a smooth arc that follows the Pavilion’s curved background wall. Covering a total area of 3 meters wide by 2 meters high (6 m²).
